Hi all,
I have a problem to do proxi alignment on Panda made 2008. I bought used dashbord number 51759896 with rmp meter and big board computer. I installed it with temperature sensor and my own TRIP button. Everything works fine, but proxi alignment is needed to stop blinking display. We tried it but it finished with unknown error after (about) 30 seconds. Do you have some tips? Thanks so much.

Did the new dash have a lower milage than the original

You can only adjust the milage upwards
Hi, thank you. No, but I have no problem with milage. Original is about 99000 km, new one is about 130000 km. But it does not metter. But display is blinking until proxi settings will be make, but it´s finnished with error.

Is the new dash from an earlier Panda? I had problems doing Proxi Alignment on a dash from a 2006 Panda Eleganza into a (late) 2007 Panda Dynamic.
Kept failing, never did find out why, but then I got an identical dash from a 2008 Panda Eleganza and it worked straight away.
I didn't bother investigating further, but the 2006 dash eventually ended up in a 2005 Panda Dynamic, and it aligned straight away (and is still working fine).
Possibly a firmware version problem?
Might be worth asking on the MES forum.

It will never work with MES will can only correct upwards

The milage stored in the ECU and dash don't match

MES can not correct this

It's the wrong tool for the job

You need someone that can read the milage and manually adjust the dash

There was are other illegal software for clocking the fiat cars knocking about the web, I can't recommend any as I have never tried them

Oops, misread post as mileage had been increased to match the dash clock.
Yes, can only be increased with MES, and probably won't proxi align with big discrepancy (although seems happy enough with a few hundred km difference, which I found when my handwriting let me down).
In my case, replacement clocks were both significantly lower than car, so didn't have that problem.

Thanks to all. Thats true, that in ECU is original mileage stand about 99100 km and in dashboard is 130100 km. I read, that is impossible to change dashboard mileage to lower number, but it is not interest for me, because it isn´t change car price (is too old and price is too low and 30000 km diference change nothing). I accept, that mileage jump from 99100 km to 130100 km. But I don´t know, that it could be problem for proxi alignment. I have two another questions:

1. I understand, that changing dashboard mileage down is illegal, but is it possible to change mileage in ECU up? If yes, is it possible to do it by MES?

2. If I find someone, who can change dashboard mileage down, for examle to 50000 km, do you think, that proxi alignment will work after it and is it possible to correct it to right ECU mileage?

Thank you so much.

1) MES can not change to engine ECU km.

2) Proxy will still probably work (if the dashboard is compatible with the body computer). It is very unlikely that the engine ECU mileage will change.

There are probably companies that can change the ECU mileage. However many Fiats and Alfas have mileage differences between ECU and dashboard which have never been explained (no programming or interference ever know to have happened as it has happenend on my Fiats). The dashboard mileage is always the legally accepted mileage.

Ok thanks, but that is two different options.
1) my proxi unknown error problem is because dashbor mileage is to much higher than ECU mileage.
2) doesn´t metter on it, if I accept, that the mileage will jump higher by dashboard.

How I wrote, I have no problem with it, I accept this mileage jump up, but I need to make proxi alignment correctly.

Yes the dash can be reset back to zero by someone with the right tools,

It's been done many times, finding someone is another story

You are able to swap many instrument panels between models, a 1.1 active, with no trip or rev can be swapped for a 1.2 dynamic fine but I can not guarantee every combination will work, we only find out after it's been tried

I tried to order special ELM cable with hardware modification for MES. It will come today or tomorrow. I will try to experiment with COM port speed settings and I will see. I don´t want to belive, that this version of dashboard cannot be proxi alignmented.

Cable works. I can do it, but same results:

Thank you, but it´s still about the same. I read a lot of story about it when wasn´t problem to install and make proxi alignment on dashboard with higher mileage than ECU. I don´t think so, that here is a problem.

Hi again. I found somewhere, that maybe customization of proxi settings can help. I have this bit sequence in original:

33 32 31 36 39 30 30 30 36 32 39 4F 55 54 50 55 54 4A 49 54 20 20 05 03 22 0F 00 00 00 09 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 01 14 00 00 00 04 06 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 11 00 04

Someone who know, what is need to change? Maybe, if someone send me his byte sequence from same car, it can work?

Thanks

Hi, problem solved. Dashboard was changed for another product number (51759896 for 51711245). 51711245 works immediately with no proxi alignment needed. Dashboard Node (IPC/NQS): EOL is OK. Thanks to all.
