Hi I recently changed my engine in my car but for some reason when I put the negative terminal on the battery it automatically starts cranking the car. But no key in the car and no ignition is on anyone know?

Probably jammed the wires together on the starter motor bridging terminals, or wire at starter on wrong terminal. I would check there first. Should be mounted on top of airbox, then you can actually see what wires are going where,It could have been designed a bit better though.
Rear of motor it's 50% done by feel
