Technical Power problems

Well the MUlti has turned around and bit me on the a*se!

Just as I was singing it's praises to other car owners, yesterday it wouldn't accelerate properly in 4 and 5th. It was if the turbo would take time to 'spool up' then it started to do it whilst driving along not just under acceleration.

Today it is undrivable - it will tick over no problem but doesn't have enough power to get up the smallest of hills.

I doesn't sound exceptionally rough and the oil and water seem to be keeping themselves apart!

The AA man is on his way - any ideas?

I was thinking Turbo before but I'm not sure. Airflow sensor? Injector blockage?

At least it's still under warranty.

Sounds like the catalitic convertor died, but that's unlikely on a car still under warranty unless you're doing 50 + thousand miles a year.

Sounds like turbo boost valve,just to left of battery,quite common fault.Check no pipes blown off or damaged first.

It was the EGR according to the AA man - it's back to the dealer for a replacement!

EGR,I take it the car was smoking abit especially when cold?

Big black clouds when you put your foot down and a big black patch on the drive from when the AA man came round :0

It's finally fixed after much back and forth to the dealers!

Why do they bother stripping and cleaning an EGR valve when they know fine well it's a temporary fix and it will need a new one!!!!!

It's taken 3 weeks to get this sorted out!

The car is transformed though - much better!

I have posted lots on this the last few days and it seems that it might be the Exhaust Gas Release Valve sticking!
I am booked into my local garage next tuesday so...
