Would someone be able to confirm part nos. for the 2 short flexible pipes behind the oil filter please? Filter was stuck so i tapped a screwdriver through it to twist it off but the jagged edge slashed both pipes! Lesson learnt - get a filter strap. Coolant sprayed out of both pipes so are they flow and return? Going to try and cut the clips off and replace if possible. All looks a bit tight.

Thanks very much. Found the pipes - next issue is going to be trying to disconnect/reconnect them at the top. It's tight.
As an alternative, anyone used the hose couplers that you insert and then clip both sides? Reckon it'll be a lot easier to cut the pipe at the damage and do it that way

Edit: just realised the damage is on the elbows so couplers might be a non-starter. Might have to invest in some hose clamp pliers but struggling to see how I'm going to get them in to change the clips...

If the clips are of the "clic" type then you may wish to consider Laser 4231. or similar swivel headed pliers.
 
Don't think they're clic but they don't look like normal worm drive. Can cut them off - just access to put new on is going to be a pain.

Well i'll answer your question , seeing as no one else has . Yes ,

they feed coolant to the oil cooler mounted on the lower offside of the engine , a small black circular fitting almost directly under the power steering pump on the offside of the engine . The coolant is taken direct from the thermostat housing on the upper side of the engine under the intercooler pipes then returned . I'm afraid there is no silver bullet to this job , they are a right bitch , and worm drive clips only serve to make the job even more harder . It can be done trust me , i did a major overhaul on my cooling system about 4 years ago , and replaced all my pipes and in this case the oil cooler too , among many other things . However , my refitting was made slightly easier , as I refitted the rubber pipes while it was removed , but even here i struggled to get the worm drive in a position that allowed me to refit the cooler itself . Be very careful at the other end too . The hose fits to steel pipes bolted to the engine , and the phase hen's teeth come's to mind here . I manage to source a pair from Italy , but this was only by luck .

Managed to get it all done last week - bit of a pig of a job as you say, but leaving it for a few days then looking at it with fresh eyes after losing my s*** when it happened helped! Managed to get all the new worm drives tight with a combination of a flexi screwdriver and 7mm spanner.
No issues with bleeding the system after either, just left the top off the expansion tank and ran it up to temp, couple of small top ups and good to go.

While I also have a dedicated flexi screwdriver, my favourite tools for worm drive clips, are a 7mm nut spinner and a 1/4" socket set, with an assortment of extensions.

Reminder. Have you bought the strap wrench, or dedicated oil filter tool?
