Leave it parked in a warm place for an hour or two and it'll "rise" nicely. You'll end up with a Punto :D

I've seen a clear plastic film that can be stuck to bumpers etc and is tough enough to protect against minor scrapes/stonechips (you just replace the plastic film when it gets damaged) so i assume that is what it is ?

isn't it the stuff the cars are covered in while they're moved from factory to dealer to protect them all the nasties flying about. Most cars I see on the transporters on the motorways seem to have a sort of white film over vulnerable areas.

Joking aside, it shouldn't come to the new owner wrapped in anything; after PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) it ought to be just all gleaming, shiny paintwork with no sign of clingfilm, thick wax or any other "protective" matériels.

N.B. take a tip from those of us who've already been there, do a thorough visual inspection inside and out, check everything works and twiddle (ooer) all the controls before you drive away. Saves disappointment and hassle later...

Partial Cellophane Wrap is listed as an 'option' on the 4x4 Cross... but in the same Fiat website it also proudly tells how little petrol the Cross uses (which, given its diesel, is not surprising!)

I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be on the list, and as others have commented, refers to the white peel-off protective sheets applied to the car during delivery... somewhere I have a photo of a Cross proudly still wearing these.
