General Parcel shelf fitting

Hello all, first post here and first owner of a 2004 Idea Active.

I've just bought a used 2005 parcel shelf and wondering why it won't attach to the back of the seat - It looks like it will but it doesn't grip. Am I missing something here - or did the fittings change between the years ?
Meanwhile I can lay it over the top of the seats so it'll do for now.

These have " teeth " in them, that get broken easily.. Did on 2 of mine.. u can go to Fiat and order new ones (1 was cca 10€) or you can go to a scrappie and find some good used ones.. should not cost a lot..

This is what my fittings look like on a 2005 Idea. I would have thought they would all be the same.
