My Panda 2005 Multijet seems to splutter like there is a starvation of fuel between 1500 and 2000 revs..... it ticks over nicely........... it accelerates nicely but slow to 'kick in' ....... fule filter changed to eliminate..... can anyone tell what i should do.

Hello....thanks for reply...... Local garage wanted to charge me 40 quid to pull off the data....... Is that the only way......is 40quid reasonable.?

Engine only is easy

Elm327 Bluetooth

£5 interface and free android phone software
£10-15 interface (specify for apple) and free software on an iPhone

Apple Bluetooth use to be different

Elm327 WiFi should work with everything, but I have never used one

They can be a bit of a faf to set up

With extra adaptors it's possible to access the other modules like, dash airbags, steering

Another option for around £20 that's just plug it in and go, but limited to just the engine

Is the

C reader 30001 is known to work, and graphs

This was awhile ago, I think last time I checked a similar unit was £15

Much .more useful to find one that graphs the live data not just read and clear codes, especially with drivability issues

Post 13 is one setup I use on an android phone

So, 40quid for me a non technical without the Faf is not unreasonable?

£20 it just plugs in and works makes more sense to me, half price and you can use it multi times and on any car you have in the future

But the choice is yours

If you are not going to fix it yourself, maybe get a quote from a garage for it to be repaired

Driveability issues can be a pain

There are a few checks you can try

The small pipe under the turbo gets blocked, easy to get to from under the car

The actuator seized, not so easy to reach, but still free to check

The small rubber pipe to the turbo actuator gets old and stiff. Any leaks will prevent the waste gate opening. Engine ECU sees the over-pressure and cuts fuel supply. Engine feels flat and reluctant. Replace the tube with a thick wall silicone tube. EBay item 293822365357 is the stuff.
A sticking actuator has a similar effect.

Soot & carbon in the inlet manifold will restrict the engine and can create an over-boost effect if the blockage is bad enough.
It’s fiddly to get at but removing the steel inlet pipe from the manifold (three M6 bolts) will let you look into the manifold.

Thank you Dave
