I know that Panda rims come in two offset variants: ET30 or ET35. ET30 goes with 185 tyres (basically the Cross) and ET35 with 175 tires (the normal 4x4). The most recent Pandas 4x4, even the Cross, came with 175, so I am wondering if the newer Cross with 175 have the ET35. I have a new Panda 4x40° (https://www.media.stellantis.com/em...troducing-the-new-panda-4x400-limited-edition) with 175 and ET35 rims.

I've got a 2020 cross which came with 175 tyres but they mounted them on the same wheels as before so they were the ET30. You can verify by taking a piece of paper, pressing and rubbing it behind the first spoke to the right of the air valve on the wheel. The writing will transfer onto the paper and will confirm whether ET30 or ET35.

My car is one of the very last Cross: it has 6JX15 ET35. I wonder if I can use ET30 rim from an older Cross or if Fiat changed something in the wheel hub or else that prevents this upgrade. It just 5 mm per side, 1 cm in total

I doubt anything mechanical was changed. The only reason for the wider offset on the (original) 4x4 Cross was to prevent the wider 185 tyres from rubbing on the front ‘legs’ of the subframe on full lock. Those ‘legs’ have ‘4x4 only’ stamped into them, with a small section of the welded flange ground away in a half-moon shape to prevent the 175 tyres of the 4x4 touching. There is very little clearance, and the wider-tyres 4x4 Cross needed more!

There’s an earlier thread about all this somewhere, including a photo of that cut-out section. If I recall correctly, by Motorcyclist Colin? I’ll go and search in a mo..,

thank you! so can we conclude that ET30 are just fine with 175/65 15?

Eh up all,

I’m interested in this thread as I knew about the two wheel sizes ET 30 and 35, but I always assumed 185 tyres would fit on my Cross.

So I would like to fit 185s on my 20 plate with ET30 wheels rather than the 175s currently on

To be clear - can I safely fit the 185s or not .?

I thought I could but now I’m questioning myself with this information

I’m due to change them in November so want to get them ordered.

Apologies to the OP but makes sense to ask this on this thread 👍Every days a schooldays 😁

Yes you can. I did this on my 2020 cross. Just to check, you have a cross 4x4, not city cross?

What I have learnt in these days is that 185 tires require et30, while 175 are ok also with et35. my assumption is that 175 + et30 is fine

Defo a Cross - had Panda 4x4s since Mk1’s all the way through 👍

I thought as much but the offsets been thrown me 🤔, always worth checking stuff on here with everyone’s inputs before I 🤬 it up 😂

Back to 185s for me it is

Cheers

Apologies for hi jacking your thread 👍

Thanks for confirming that’s what I thought - enjoy your car they are great bits of kit

For the benefit of others, this photo shows the (very subtle!) cutout section of the front 'leg' of the subframe on the 4x4 models. This allows just enough room for the slightly wider/larger tyres to turn onto full lock without fouling the frame. The part number for that leg section (which is a separate removable part) is different and that modification is done at the factory. It is also stamped '4x4 only' just off to the left of the photo (tucked behind the arch inner)

incidentally, they should have written “not for 4x4” on normal frame: this machined frame is harmless on normal panda, but the normal one on 4x4 is a disaster…

It makes me wonder where the Waze Cross fits in. I will have to look at the chassis legs and see which I have. The car came with the175 tyres so I presume it has the narrower ET35 wheels. Steel in this case, although I have alloys for teh summer. Its a bit of a hybrid, having the cross transmission selctor and HDC.but low level roof rails and It was exactly what I wanted, accepting my roof cross bars and not having any fake leather on the seats to crack. I just missed buying Cross alloys and 185 tyres sold on here a year or so back. I was really disappointed to miss them but maybe it was a good thing!
