General Panda 100hp project and general run about car

I like the last picture actually. Like the white line break to strong colours. Coz grey and black are close to each other the white breaks them apart nicely rather than letting them merge.

Nice feedback guys. Yeah I think it suits the car well, looks a bit meaner. I think the line is correct higher up, rather than that on the Alessi model.

I'll get a few quotes and see what he price comes out to spray. I can image it will involve:
Remove black vinyl around door windows, rub down, fill any bumps etc, mask windows and panels etc, couple of coats of black paint, rub down, clear coat, polish.

I recon I could do everything up paint stage, however I would still give it all ago. :) next door neighbour has a compressor and spray gun, so maybe!!

But then again there's a spray shop up the road, so worth getting a price I recon. They did my ex's car side panel repair and spray for around £130 and it was a very good job I think they do a lot of jag and land rover stuff.

I can also ask my mate Dan (whos paint booth I used) for a price. Shouldn't be too expensive as u just want top half painted black. His garage opposite New Barnet station. But this week he is on holidays.

Both sound good. If you can ask Dan for me, I'll get two other quotes and see what's best.

Right back from an absence

Few things in the pipeline, will keep you updated over next few days

Look forward to:

Caliper painting
Wheel painting
White lettering on tyres
Wing mirror wrap
Re-trim of steering wheel (any company's greatly recommended)
500 Abarth exhaust fitment

:slayer:

Love it! i was thinking abot doing mine with a black roof and bonnet

you have just sold it me!

nice photoshopping skills!

Thanks, I think it looks really nice with a black top. Don't know why fiat didn't do it??

On another note, exhaust fitted today. Abarth exhaust from 500. Strait fit, apart from the tail pipes end up in the wrong place, and extra hangers needed for drivers side.

So the original tail pipes where cut off and hangers welded under the car.

Then instead of having chrome tips welded on (naff aftermarket look in my opinion) I got the garage that welded the new hangers one, to weld some stainless steel ends on, straight from the exit holes in the back box.

Not sure how I'm going to finish the ends, might buff them up or paint Matt black (new trend)

Great sound, not loud at all, but has a lovely burble at low revs. I can imagine if twinned with a straight through pipe or an induction kit.

Costs you are all saying......how much??
Well the back box cost me 99p from ebay, and all the welding work etc cost £70, amazing for around 2 hrs works. So all in £70.99 a bargain.

Amazingly this is exactly what I want to do for the re-trim. But maybe in a slightly lighter grey alcantara or maybe half of it in perforated leather.

Thanks for the tip off Demi

No worries Matt! And the exhaust look great, I dont think you need to do any thing with the tips. If it was a single pipe it would have looked too small but as it is dual it looks great in this size. (y)

WOW I'm liking that A LOT (y)

Finishing the tips - how about running some 150 grade emery paper or strip around them to a 'brushed' look? Much less blingy than polished/buffed and easy to re-do if they get scratched or stained.
Anyway, excuse me whilst I just rush off to ebay to see if I can find a 99p Abarth back box

She scrubs up alright for a Panda with 105k miles on the clock. (y)(y)

So had a good few days of fettling with the panda before auto Italia. Really nice to meet the people I did with 100hp and the others with Fiats and others. Few pictures below of the work I did on the panda
