Styling Panda 100HP on Alfa teledial wheels

Anybody got pics of a 100HP on Alfa teledials?

My wheels are like 50p's and are getting worse with the roads over here.

Any type, I'm more swaying towards the sharper versions as below but can't find many pics to make my mind up

Personally, I don't think the teledials suit the Panda, obviously I know it's your choice but I'd be inclined to stick with FIAT, or some motorsport wheels.

At £80 each for straightening and powder coating, I went for pepper pot steels (£42 each at Oponeo) which look great on the car. The alloys can wait until I'm fussed enough to get them done.

The 100HP has 6.5J x 15 with ET30. (check inside the wheel)


ET is measured from the centreline so a 6.0J or a 6.5J has the same ET. I cleaned, primed and painted with "stainless" wheel silver.

If you want centre caps choose your type to fit the hub and then choose wheels to fit the caps. Alternatively get caps that fit over the wheel bolts.

Some say no good because I'll lose the key but ordinary hex bolts are available and so are spare keys

Steels it is then. Each wheel has a £6 surcharge for coming across the Solent though...


The Alfa wheels require spacers which makes a cheap wheel idea into a more expensive one.

The Alfa Teledial wheels are even more fragile than the 100HP alloys. I went for the steels because they are easier to repair if they do get damaged but should be less fragile. The original wheels might get refurbed, but the costs hardly make it worthwhile.

The caps I chose were not the least cost (I forgot to account for caps when I ordered the wheels) but I like the look.

Looking on eBay, there do not seems to be any centre trims like mine. Suggest you get some with the wheels (talk to Oponeo) and get some 50mm Fiat logo self adhesive badges. The inside of trim cap has to fit the car wheel hub centre boss. the new wheel has to fit over the centre cap.

Steel wheels on route

Can't fault Oponeo for their customer service, they phoned me the day after placing my order to make sure I had ordered the right wheels as they didn't have the Panda listed as a car that those specific steels fitted.

I explained they were as close as I could get to my alloy wheels and the very helpful operator said they will send them with no responsibility if they don't fit which I was happy with

As soon as they're here I'll get booked in for the tyre swap :slayer:

They arrive in a satin black finish. I dulled mine with scotchbrite, primed and painted with "stainless" colour wheel paint. It is paler than the car body so not as samey as the picture looks. Perhaps silver would have been better. Plenty of time to decide.

Long term, I'll go for powder coating. It's a fair bit of work to properly smooth all cut edges. The wheels are not sharp by any means but are enough to thin the coating film enough to cause trouble at the edges.

PS this is a standard Panda bumper with the rubbing strip areas smoothed and the 100HP spats and splitter fitted. Fog lamp housings are Eleganza spec with narrow beam LEDs wired to work as daylights.

The alloys are nice but I think the steels look even better. They are also no heavier than the alloys and so far have not buckled.

The hard part was finding suitable centre caps. Little 50mm x 50mm (approx) are not easy to find. My VW caps with Fiat badges do the job nicely.

These should work. (4 x 100 PCD). Fill the Ford logo, paint black and add some Fiat badges. Retain with M8 studs and thin nuts in place of the disc retaining pins. Use dome nuts on top to retain the caps.

An alternative to the centre caps would be hub dust caps as commonly fitted on trailer wheels, such as these here. I measured the front hub inner diameter at 50mm, rear 52mm.

The Mini R50 caps are exactly what I was looking for but could not find. In the end I bought wheels to fit the axle there giving me no clearance for end caps. They could still be fitted but would need to make up alloy retaining discs to clear the hub caps and be retained by the disc holding studs.

By the way I have used these Abarth wheel bolts. They come with a spline attachment, look cool and at £18 for 20 what's not to like?

My wife's 13" steels wheel bolts, 100HP alloy wheel bolts and these socket head bolts all have the same taper. The sockets threads are a bit long so I use a smear of anti seize on the end 1/2" to avoid dirt clagging into the threads.

Won't they accept an additional fee?

Can you use an address they will post to and collect from there?

A friend of mine has had stuff delivered to his Rugby club (by arrangement) and he collected from there.

Another option is for you to arrange collection by an outfit that does deliver to your area.
