Technical Palio 1.9D exhaust-intake manifold connection??

I find a hose running from the exhasut manifold to the inlet manifold. I also find a valve in the line. Anybody has any idea as to what and why it is Recently when I opened the intake manifold, i found it choked with carbon deposits. it was then i discovered this connection from the exhaust manifold.

Its an EGR system That is Exhaust Gas re-circulating system. It comes under pollution control. The Exhaust recirculation valve won’t open in ideal, and also in sudden acceleration…… It opens only in constant RPM……


Once if it get the fault of opening in acceleration it may result in formation of High carbon deposit in the intake which also result in low pickup…….


The EGR valve also controls the cylinder head temperature…. It prevents the overheating inside the cylinder head…… Hope now you may be clear about this EGR system……
