Technical Palio 1.6 16V Losing power - Help!!

Hi~! My wife has had a "used" 5-year old Palio 1.6 16V for a few months. On a trip this last weekend she experienced problems on several occassions with the engine losing power and after a while cutting out. It was not overheating (according to the temp guage!) but was hot. Ambient temperatures were about 35C! Only happened after driving for a while and not necessarily whilst under heavy driving - although it did do its "thing" going up a pass on a fairly narrow road and on a blind corner with heavy traffic - not fun! After stopping for about half-an-hour or so, started up and went off without a problem!!

Any ideas as to cause and solution?

Do a search in the bravo section by someone called jug on injector failure and how to test them the injectors are a common fault on the 1.6 bravos, and the palio uses the same engine as the brava/bravo and marea.
