Finally picked up our new Panda 4x4 this morning. It’s quite leggy (121k) for a twinair but price was good and it’s seems to run well and I couldn’t see any rot underneath.

It needs a bit of a tidy up and a few bits: a rear wiper arm, some trim (parcel shelf, glovebox door and the trim covering the fuses to the right of the ignition).

It also has no service book and owners manual. I’m thinking it’ll be wise to do a full service, oil, filters, plugs.

Are there any other things I should be doing?

Is there much difference between OEM and comparable wiper arms? Would you recommend getting a service kit or just buying the bits from Halfords?

You can get everything you need from Shop4Parts. Generally everything is available for prompt delivery and prices are very competitive. If you're not sure about anything then the folks on the phone are super knowledgeable.

S4P the place. Top quality and good prices with excellent service. Last time I bought the correct oil from them at a fabulous price. Search TA oil and you will see how imprtant the oil is to correct running, or more to the point how the wrong oil can cause problems that are better avoided. Plugs are very expensive but S4P ones are nearly half price. Wipers get Bosch. Motor Parts Direct have rears for £9 which is mega cheap and fronts are c £22 for the pair. I hope it goes well for you. I great car in my view. To get economy you need to find its level. Experiment with Eco on and off. Hard driving drives economy rihght down but it is posible to average 45 with a little effort.

Thanks for the really comprehensive reply. I’ve email S4P with my list so hopefully they’ll be able to sort me out. I’ve also contacted a couple of breakers who have a 4x4- might make sense to try to get all of the trim bits from them.
I’ve notice the Blue and Me isn’t working- I’m guessing that explains the flashing mileage…

Oh yes, almost certainly. Look out for the, not insignificant, battery drain that B&M failure brings.

I’m beginning to realise that may be a concern. Is it sufficient just to locate and unplug the B&M or does it need some engine management reprogramming? I’ve read some of the threads about this. Seems like a bit of a fan of worms!
I’m getting a few bits of trim from a Panda 4x4 at a breakers this week. Wondering if it’s worth getting the unit from that car to try…

All the bits delivered this morning from S4P. I emailed them on Sunday and they replied with a list of what I needed. Excellent service!

I’ve found a breaker that has a Panda 4x4 in who can supply a replacement driver’s seat and some trim bits that are missing (fuse covers, glove box door etc. just need to source a parcel shelf. I’ve seen some on eBay. Is the fit the same on all 2012+ Pandas or is there any difference with later models or 4x4s.

I’m also going to try to get to the bottom of the Blue and Me/Flashing odometer. I’ve read the many threads about this subject but may need a little more specific information… I feel another thread coming on!

Thanks again for all the help 👍
