Punto 2012+ Old lady that needs some love

Introduction

Bought this one in March after my previous car died, needed a budget friendly car that can last me for about 5 years, as the car market in Denmark is a mess right now. When I bought it it had 194000 km, and the timing belt had just been replaced. It had the same owner for 12 years, which was a plus.
Had to replace the headliner as it was spotty and couldn't be cleaned...never figured out what it was to be honest...I also replaced the rear windows winding mechanisms, which were completely rusted together. Replaced the speakers and the radio unit to get Bluetooth and better sound, and have some more projects along the way
Okay. I was curious to know exactly that; do ePER prices reflect actual at-the-dealer-prices. Now I know they don't.
I've had only one experience; I bought a paint-repair-pen for 250 dkk. Pricey too, but this particular subject calls for an actually matching colour, so unavoidable.

While on the subject of breakers; I went to my local breaker yesterday to hand off the C4 for scrapping. And had a walkabout on the premises. Found 4 Pandas and had a poke at them. Got a gear gaiter gizmo (ring, gaiter and the reverse-gear-handle); 20 dkk.

Oh - and look what was in the mail:

Works just fine: 2 USB-charger-outlets and two-layer storage compartment.
But the colour... What was I thinking?
Wrll done on the armrest/charger thing! And it sounds like I have to start walking around breakers whenever I can make time! Problem is the ones I experienced so far were shady at best...still missing the experience of meeting a serious one...back when I was driving my first cinquecento in Italy I spent a lot of time in my local breaker where I got new mirrors, new headlights, taillights, seat belts that rolled instead of being fixed...I could just go in and unmount the things as I wanted!

Those prices are pulled from the database, which was last updated in 2016 :s

We wondered whether they were useful to keep on the eper system (due to their inaccuracy) - but thought it might be nice to have some kind of a reference point so left them on.
This makes sense! I was wondering if the database simply was outdated, but I have to admit that a 4x plus increase in price seems like stealing!

Old !! it's practically new in Punto terms, Sounds like it has had a hard life.

As an ex smoker, one head liner problems caused by smokers is not from the cigarettes but from having the windows open to flick ash out in all weathers, ash gets blown back into the cabin as does a fair amount of dirt and grime from the front drivers side wheel if they drive for any distance with the window open. My Evo that was a 2011 had a pretty dirty head liner, I don't know what fiat made them out of, but they are a magnet for dirt.

Am I right in thinking that car prices in Denmark are completely insane due to the taxes you guys have to pay on cars? I seem to remember having this conversation many many years ago with someone from Denmark who had paid about 3-4 times the price for the same car I had at the time.

I certainly hope it will give me many good years, I really like this car tbh!

Car prices in Denmark are insane because they carry the registration tax, which is somewhere between 80 and 120% of the market value of the vehicle, depending on a number of factors, and reflects on the used car market as well...just as an example I paid 33000 dkk at a shady dealer for my 12 year old Punto with almost 200k km on it (roughly 4000 Euro), and already spent another 5000+ dkk just in maintenance

Another example, back in 2011 I bought my Harley Davidson in Italy for 3800 Euro. Then I moved to Denmark in 2015, realized I was likely gonna stay here, and imported the Harley last year. I had to of course get it appraised and registered and paid another 30000 dkk just to get the danish license plate. Oh yeah, and if you don't register your vehicle within 30 days (if you live here) it can be taken from you

But hey, Denmark has other perks! Otherwise I wouldn't have decided to stay!

that pretty much sums up the conversation I remember having.

I have heard very good things about Denmark it’s definitely on my list of places to move to.

Someone my wife knows (a doctor) moved to Denmark and they employed a translator to follow her around the hospital at all times and translate for her as her skills were so highly sought after

Am I right in thinking that car prices in Denmark are completely insane due to the taxes you guys have to pay on cars? a phrase; "buy one, pay for three".
Danes have a phrase that describes the situation; "Buy one, pay for three".
And now, with the dwindling ICC market, cheap and cheap to own cars are becoming sought after by those who don't want to fork over +200k DKK for 'transportation'.
I'm in that situation, waiting for used-EV prices to become manageable.

Same here, I love myself a good old ICE, but I have come to peace that my next day-to-day car will likely be electric...however I refuse to take a loan to buy a car, so prices will need to drop quite a lot (or I will need a serious salary increase lol)

Okay. I was curious to know exactly that; do ePER prices reflect actual at-the-dealer-prices.
I've found since I've owned my Seicento the prices seem to be around double what Eper states at a main Fiat dealer, Eper prices exclude VAT & also Fiat main dealer prices exclude VAT, also as stated the price list is from 2016 but I still find it useful as you can guess a rough idea how much it'll be, I usually expect it to be around double from the parts I've purchased for my Seicento from Fiat apart from my rear light seals which were 3x the price than Eper stated.
