Ok I have done alot of reading of previous threads about the Remap vs tunning box debate.

All in all the general concensus seems to be for a remap. (allthough my friend has a box on his astra and swears by it, and claims +50bhp +100nM torque, which i would be very happy with, all for £234).

1) If I was to go for a remap (just bought 2006 1.9 sporting (with leather, climate control and cruise. :D), What performance increase should i hope to get from it? i.e. when i approach a company what will i be looking to get from them.

2) I live Glasgow Scotland, does anyone know of REPUTABLE companies that have proffesionally delivered good results? i.e. where should I go?

Thanks alot guys.

There is reference to Celtic tuning on here, but I don't know where they are based.

From what we have known, there are mixed results and I believe that the don't have a rolling road to prove the gains...

Other than the circa 800-mile round trip, any other ideas people?

Do it, make a weekend of it, view it as a chance to check your "before and after" fuel consumption maybe, plus of course meeting other Forum members as I did, great fun, and recomended. (y)

I'm meant to be commuting to London on January 2nd in the car, so I can tie it in with that

I'll ask Santa to bring me £199.99 + VAT and fitting (if necessary)!

Cheers (y)

I think i might just have to. Google says 7.5hours to GRS and £80 in diesel. So would need to leave at like 4 in the morning

Just £200 is fine and we got free cakes given us too! There is a Bar-b q for those who wanna cook and eat, its an education chatting with Peter and the guys.
Nothing to fit, just a fandangle with the ECU via a laptop and a couple of noisy runs on the Dyno :D

It's approx 400-ish miles from Glasgow. Average 80mph and you're there in 5 hours! (y)

(What you do for a pee, er... I dunno!)

Remember, on the M74 in sunny Scotland there are no speed cameras, so a good headstart can be made before you hit the M6

Its a good pull but I personally have driven from Telford to Newcastle on Tyne, done a 1 hour meeting and presentation then on to Edinburgh to do the same and home on the same day.... its what diesels are for donchaknow! ;)

That'll keep Dumfries and Galloway's finest in coffee and doughnuts for a while then ;)

Im still upset that there must be somewhere is scotland that remaps diesels?!?!?! or what about a tunning box? my friend swears by his and the results are amazing but will this damage the car in any way?
