General Oil, oil, oil.... insurance

Anybody know engine oil weight for my 1000cc '88 4x4? oh and also does anyone recommend and particular oil for both engine and transmission?

Anybody know of a cheap insurance company as well?

I use Carlube 10w40 and the car seems to love it.

As for insurance it's all down to your own circumstances, but if I were you I would:

Go on confused.com/your preferred comparison website and see what it turns up. Call the top few results for a quote and see if they'll do better.

Try Direct Line and swiftcover.com. To date I've used Churchill, Privilege, Hastings Direct (their renewal quote was an extra £200 than the previous year, despite extra no claims...?!) and swiftcover.com and swiftcover are now consistently giving me cheap quotes apart from on larger engined stuff and modified cars.

Insurance. I run a Multipla JTD ELX and went through all the comparison websites. Came up with three all under £300 (normally nearly £400). This was after loading the quote with business use, legal protection protected no claims etc. Best was http://www.localbroker.co.uk/ at £277, followed by http://www.lv.com/ at £279 and http://www.admiral.com/ at £280.

Also try http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/ It's quite a task but that's how I did it and saved over £100. That's quite a percentage saving.
