Hi All
2.0 Diesel Turbo engine.
I've got a leak from the rocker cover.
Can the turbo cause this issue?
What mythology would be used to work out what going on?
I believe its caused by high pressure in the rocker cover.
I've removed and cleaned the black component at the top of the oil breather pipe. (no idea what's its called as I have no parts list)Last guy knew about this issue because the had disconnected the sensor that comes after it.
I need to know what tests I can do to work out what's going on?
I know from doing petrol engines that this can be
1/Faulty rocker cover gasket ( which I always change first)
2/Faulty head gasket (leak down test/compression test).
3/Worn piston rings (leak down test/compression test).
4/ Blocked breather.( I've taken this apart cleaned parts in it )
I had a punto engine with this fault and it ran and ran well over two years before I bothered with it( Faulty head gasket), used oil. This one is bit different as the oil loss is a bit higher.
Im a big fan of the leak down test, after years of doing compression tests. Love buying tools, so would be a good excuse...
