Anything that is not standard on the car is classed as a mod.
Does that include Factory Fitted Options?

They will increase your premium for having body coloured bumpers if they were not like that originally, I honestly don't think they will ramp it up for that though £10-£40.:yeahthat:
So will having body coloured bumpers increase my insurance cost if i went with 'Adrian Flux'.... as they were not standard parts for my car, but rather optional extra's like the alloys and boot spoiler?

Some insurance companies don't add anything on for cosmetic mods though, so you might get lucky![]()
I just noticed where you live, more than likely a high risk area that is causing that.My current insurer said at renewal that i will have to pay more as they see that "Body coloured bumpers" are a mod - fitted when the car was made, along with the alloys and boot spoiler, hence i'm changing at renewal - prices goes up £300 for them![]()

£2600with discounts etc, 19 1yr no claims 1.1L Punto, no mods...
One of the most expensive quotes i had this renewal - went with admiral for £1100still too much in my opinion...
Is that with you on your own policy completely? with the car registered in your name? or is that with a parent on too and you as a named driver? What sort of policy have you got with Admiral?
I'm 17... passed in October last year, was driving for 4 months, head gasket went, cancelled insurance and claimed on tax (we didn't know that we were going to decide to repair) We rang i-kube (same insurance supplier as I was on 3 weeks earlier for £1700) and I have been quoted £7000... Nothing less :bang:
I previously had insurance but a broken car, now I have a car but there is no way I can afford anything above £1700...
By the way, car is an N-reg (1995/6) 1.1l Punto 55S with no mods other than a new radio.
Would I get a decent quote with Adrian Flux?
What else do you reccomend?
Mr Flux wasnt able to get within £50 of my renewal but neither was Chris Knott. Ive been driving over 40 year,no convictions, no claims so I wonder who they can help.
