Hi all!

Lately I've been using my Evo for some longer journeys. One thing I'd love is a centre console as an armrest, does get a tad uncomfortable at times…

I've browsed eBay for OEM setups however cannot find anything good. There are aftermarket ones available however they look a little tacky therefore, I'd prefer to retrofit a genuine one.

I was wondering if there are any breakers here or anyone with some sources for a genuine centre console setup. I need things from the bracket to the little piece of trim. Any help would be greatly appreciated, its one of those accessories I cannot live without... ;)

I have attached a photo of what I'm after if any breakers here have what I need!

I will tell you now, having had an Evo with an oem arm rest, that the whole thing is mounted to a metal plate which is welded to the floor pan of the car, I do not believe this bracket is normally present in cars that do not have the arm rest. Therefore without that plate you would not be able to fit an oem arm rest

To fit one you’d need to cut the metal plate out of a car that was fitted with one.

Thank you all for the replies!

This is interesting… I have seen videos of people retrofitting these from dealer supplied parts like I pictured above. ePER also shows bolts mounting it to the vehicle so welds are a surprise!

The bracket is the main issue; it seems they've become quite rare and/or overlooked by breakers. The actual centre console is available from a few breakers due to it being compatible with the Mito as @cainy1989 mentioned above.

Guess I'll have to occasionally scroll through eBay and message some breakers from time to time.

Or just fit one of those aftermarket one… :/

You can see the plate in this video when I did the handbrake cables

Looking at it now I do wonder if there was a way to remove it and perhaps I never felt the need to investigate it fully, but in anycase you do need the metal plate and you won’t fit the centre console with out it.

The Mito probably came with an arm rest more commonly than the Punto so I’d probably go down that root.

Maybe as you say speak to some breakers , I’d probably say that you need a replacement for a broken or bent bracket as the price will probably double if they think you’re using it to make an upgrade

Yep! That little plate is the main piece of the puzzle, it does look bolted in as I believe it's sat on the same fixings that mounts the plastic centre trim. Guess I'll have some searching to do. I'll update this thread accordingly

If you look at my video where I fitted heated seats

It appears to show the metal plate is Riveted (its not very clear) the bolts that hold in the plastic trim actually bolt to the plate if you look and so it may be the cars without this plate have those bolt studs welded to the floor or a different plate in place ?
