Dear All,

Thank you for all your reply for the topic "flashing odometer".

I would like to add one question :

I had the bluetooth issue and relative flashing odometer, I noticed one thing :

after the day that "odometer issue" started , decrease in start and stop as well not working

Is the odometer flashing related to start and stop not working ?

In my car start and stop does not work, no issue message on dashboard, start and stop button works fine. saying start and stop engaged / disengaged.

I did test the battery today, with a multimeter.
I followed a guide.

1) turn the key
2) Leave the heardlamp on for 2 min to remove static charges from the battery
3)turn off headlamps
4)connect the positive and negative.

the reading I got , this morning car off , was 12.0/11.9

I then turned the car on with the multimeter connected , the voltage dropped to 10 as normal and then rised to 14.

I think that the battery is working , but probably not enough for the start and stop????

I head that the value is indication that the battery need replacement if the voltage drop below 12.5.

Weird thing is that battery health indicator on the battery is showing green. and no alarm or error message is displayed in dashboard.

I think you need to change the battery, those voltages wouldn't inspire confidence if I saw them on one of my cars...

I did post a new question please find the link , I added the video as well.

I was thinking to buy a new battery but I have doubt about the CCA amps value.

I have seen your other post and while I have no experience I think the guy at Halfords is misinformed (or overly optimistic re the sophistication of the FIAT charging system!). I came here to say that the flashing odo is as you know related to the bluetooth failure. However, one of the other symptoms of this failure is a sizeable parasitic battery drain (the B&M unit typically fails in an "on" state - result a flat battery inside 5 days). Now while you may not have had the flat battery (by using the car regularly) the battery would have been getting a hiding when the car was not in use which may have hastened its demise. By the way I have a 4x4 2013 and I think the stop start has worked for perhaps 4 weeks during my ownership; am I bothered..?

Thanks for the reply, my main concern wast the start and stop but what was cuasing the start and stop failure.

I bought the new battery today from halfords , I can return it in 28 days if the items has not been used .

I will disconnect the bluetooth module once for all and see if the old battery goes back to normal.

I like halfords and send lots of money there for car tools/car accessories and bikes.

I think they use the reset system in other cars brands.

FYI, bluetooth module is under the driver's seat (RHD). The unit must be disconnected here to prevent possible battery drain - there are threads on here.

Thanks for info. I did disassemble that one time and then clean the area and open the module to clean it. Then reconnected . I have certification as PAT tester and fix stuff for hobby , I will play with my multimeter and soldering station if I find a guide.

You've clearly got this covered - I'd be interested to hear if you find the root cause. I still have my dead unit...
