Well the beastie passed another MoT (first time), with only a few advisories.
However that was after giving it a quick check over only to find the bulb warning light on, as one of the number plate lights wasn't working. Of course the screws were rotten and the heads gave way but fortunately trying to drill them out resulted in the remaining bit getting so hot it melted the plastic and the light unit was easily pilled out over the top of the rusty heads. All of which enabled me to clean the contacts (that's all that was wrong) and slot it back in place for the test. So far so good
.
For the longer term there's no way the screws are ever going to come out of the 'fitting' from the outside, and the 'fitting' appears to be part of the inside panel of the Boot ?. Adverts on eBay only show the light cluster itself for sale.
Does any knowledgeable soul know how it all comes apart ?, or is the solution to strip out the inside of the Boot panel, and attack it from that end ?
