Hi guys,
Im new on here, i have just sold my crx del sol VTI and am now looking for a small fun car for under £1600. I used to have a 899cc seciento so i thought that i would have a look at another but this time i would like a seciento sporting.

If anyone knows of good low millege ones please let me know preferably standard condition.

Also can anyone tell me the difference between the sporting seciento and the Abarth? i know the wheels look different but can see anything else...

Im hoping to buy one this weekend or asap and will have cash waiting if you know of any.

Im up in Scotland.

Cheers :)

the sporting has 13" wheels, no spoiler and no side skirts

the abarth has 14" wheels, spoiler, sideskirts and on the mk2 version 'ABARTH' sprayed onto the grill. The abarth version also has slight interior modifcations, like abarth logo sewn onto headrests, it may even come with sport pedals

you could find a 99 V for your budget, best bet to try autotrader www.autotrader.co.uk or ebay www.ebay.co.uk

The gear ratios are slightly lower IIRC...
As above.
The Mk1 Abarth had slightly shorter (and closer) ratios in the gearbox compared to the Sporting but then came the MK2 face lifted Seicentos and the Abarth just got the cosmetic treatment a bit like the Schumacher edition but still stuck on a normal Sporting (ie. same engine now an Mpi version and gearbox).
IMO having owned a MK1 Abarth I find that Seicentos look better with skirts and a rear spoiler to take away some of the bland curves.

Just found an old post I did on the Cinq_and_seis group (from Sat May 18, 2002) about the Abarth gearbox:-
"Just to clarify (or muddy the waters depending on your point of view) series 1 seicento's fitted with the full Abarth kit got a close ratio gearbox (by virtue of a 4.071 diff being fitted as opposed to the sporting's normal 3.867 diff) which means a mechanical rather than an electrical speedo is the only fitment difference. Hi guys, thanks for the advice, i put down a deposit on a yellow, seciento sproting abarth, its a t reg and i love it :D Get it on Monday (y)

Why did you sell the CRX? I used to really want one of those when I was younger (in Milano Red). Looked for one before I got the Coupe, but couldn't find any decent ones.

Im selling it as ive just finishe uni and wanted to get a cheaper car to save some money...i have just bought £2000 of stuff to put on so im also selling all of that.

I used to have a 899 sei, in a purple blue colour but i always wanted the sporting :p

So i seen this on autotrader last night, went and saw it and bought it (y)

The guy is collecting the crx tomorrow :(

LOL as i said, i had bought over £2K of stuff to fit to the CRX and had saved enough for a respray and then had second thoughts...i plan to get a flat this year so the money from the CRX can be put to better use...plus i saw the seicento and fell in love

Just thought id update this...below is a pic of the little car i bought...its the pic from autotrader though so i will have to get some more...where is the best place to put my pics on here?

What a fun little car...ive no regrets with selling the CRX now...it is strange though waiting for the Vte to kick in...its like WTF then i remember :D

The people on the del sol site seem to think im mad too

"He He...its a financial chioce guys.. i didnt go out thinking mmm i will drop 100 bhp for no reason

The petrol tank hardly moves and this time next year i hope to have no loans plus a paid for (or nearly teg type R etc) plus my own place

It is nippy and fun though and with the CRX i was starting to crave nore speed, we also have an evo 330 so everythime i got back in my car it felf slow...so now i let Steve pay for the expensive performance and get a shot now and agian and i laugh all the way to the bank with all the cash im saving

Donna "

This is what i posted on the del sol site to try to explain why :D
