Has anyone had any success using one of these recreation 'Abarth' alloy rocker covers with the Weber carb?

I'm running a 650 (from a 126p) with a Weber IMB128, and attempting to fit the new rocker cover, it is fouling quite significantly on the side of the carb, both at the adjustment screw surround, and the float bowl.

Whilst I could go at the alloy rocker cover with a grinder, I'm not sure there's enough material to grind away!!

I've looked at (additional) carb spacers, however there don't seem to be any available specifically for the Weber, but something could be adapted to fit. But even then, it will only raise it vertically and I'm not sure it would help.

What am I missing? Is it the catalyst to getting an alternative carb?

I came across exactly the same problem with my 540cc engine build but I bit the bullet and took a Dremel to the side of a brand new rocker cover to make it fit. I think a preferred route would be a spacer in fact if you go through the fuel items on the Ricambio site they show a spacer but it is always out of stock.

How thick is the metal on the cover? I bet you could remove enough to make it fit.
I ran into exactly the same problem (prior to fitting the FZDcarb). The 'pattern' Abarth rocker-covers ARE quite thick-walled, so like me, I think that you will be able to grind quite a bit of the side-wall of the cover in order that the IMB carb will fit. But take it carefully, and only take off the minimum required for clearance. Another tip with these alloy rocker-covers----as bought they can be VERY slow fillers (when topping-up/renewing the engine oil). Enlarge the hole INSIDE the cover to allow oil to flow quicker---the walls of the cover are thick enough that you won't lose any strength. When securing the cover, I have found that you need a fibre washer on the cover, with a flat washer then between it and a 'nyloc'nut----this way you are unlikely to get an oil leak at the top of the cover. Nyloc 'dome' nuts are available, but you have to then be careful as to how much of the rocker-shaft/rocker-cover stud is protruding up, out of the cover. Use the 'rubberoid' r/cover gasket, not the cork variety.
