We finally managed to purchase "Bobby", a 1993 CLX which had been sent for auction from our works garage. Since the auction house was in Bridgwater we hired a trailer to bring him home :D In the meantime we were lucky enough to secure the Panda 4x4 which had been advertised via the Fiat Motor Club GB. This was in Gloucester - so we made full use of the trailer yesterday! Mileage was around 400miles  The 4x4 has been called "Noah" because of his registration letters, "ARK" :)

Some details about the cars:

"Bobby" has done 92k miles and he is a runner. His bodywork is OK - slight rust on the door/s but to be expected. He has a new battery and a set of new Goodyear tyres :D There are also many other new parts on him purchased from FIAT. The interior is a bit knocked about but it should clean up. :D

"Noah" has only done 39k miles and has had only two previous owners! He hasn't run for 18 months and has just been sitting outside for the past 7 years  The clutch has gone, but the engine and 4WD work well. Quite bad rust on the bottom of the driver's door and the paintwork has perished, esp on the bonnet (n) Again, the interior is a bit rough / in need of attention. Good news though: he does have a clock AND a radio installed! :slayer::slayer:

Please see the pictures below - more to be added of Noah when it's not dark outside! :p:p

congrats on the new additions, to get some of your money back sell that bullbar on ebay, they tend to fetch a fair bit:) that CLX must be one of the few with the bullbar fittings, unless it was modified to take it... is the injection system a Bosch one or Marelli?

Bobby has the Bosch injection system, note the dizzy. The later systems use a coil pack.

And yes, the Bosch ones come with the right brackets to fit the bull bar, as standard they have a cross tube to protect the lamdba sensor in the cat equiped manifold/downpipe.

Thanks for the info on the engine (y) Tho they maybe saved from the Mongol rally, the plan is to do the Scally Rally Ireland in one of them :D As both vehicles cost me less than £100 each! :slayer::slayer::slayer:

Had a tinker with Bobby today - bullbars now removed, most of the green moss and tree gone and a quick vac :D Seats are a bit damp and whole car could do with a good wash on the inside and drying out ;)

Pulled up the matting from the boot and was pleasantly surprised by how good a condition he was in underneath :D There was plasterboard, sawdust and sand in the boot but he cleaned up well (y)

So would the K-reg Selecta with twin coil packs, lambda and cat have this cross tube? What does it look like (tube like I suppose, lol)
