Hi Folks,

I have a 1978 Fiat 124 Spider Convertible and need to find replacement lug nuts and center caps. The lug nut is unique in that the center is hollow and is an inside thread as you can see from the attached pics. No luck so far with Mr. Fiat, or Parts Geek. Autoricambi thinks the wheels may be US sourced and can't help. Can anyone help me with a source, part number, or any place I can purchase these?

Thanks much!

I seem to recall some Fords of that era had similar wheel nuts, possibly RS or other sporty versions, I have a feeling they may have been made by Compomotive, although whether factory or aftermarket I don't know, All I know is they were very unpopular due to not easy to line up/centralise quickly meaning the chance of thread damage was high.
Re the hub/grease cap you may find Lada (Fiat 124 saloon under licence) from the 1970s was similar.
Just done a search using "compomotive wheel nuts" and came up with quite a few companies supplying them. Possibly under the name Wolfrace Compomotive, you will need to confirm correct thread dimensions etc. .:)

Hub center cap :- https://www.vickauto.com/FIAT-PARTS/ then enter part # SKU-7379 in the search box @ top right of page
This cap only covers the bearing i.e to keep water/dirt out of the hub bearing. There are also various plastic centre caps available to close off the hole in the center of the wheel, one's with the Fiat logo come in various sizes, so you'd need to measure the center hole in the wheel before ordering.

Lug nuts and associated washers, single or sets:- https://midwest-bayless.com/c-100-wheel-hardware-and-accessories_FIAT-124SC-0.aspx?pagenum=1
scroll down to items 18, 19, 45 and 46 for nuts and washers

@bugsymike has raised a very important point in post #2 above re: centering the wheel on the hub when using lug nuts without either a cone or a taper seating where they fit the wheel.
If there is any space/gap between the centre hole in the wheel and the diameter of the wheel hub where the wheel fits, this clearance should be taken up by using Hub-Centric Centering Rings - these rings are available in 3 sizes from Midwest-Bayless.com ($36.79 for 4).
