Hi. Im 17 and have just got my first car about 1 week ago. Ive drove it around everyday for numerous hours and seen alot of other Puntos with certain mods. Im not really in the 'hardcore modifications' but the ones i do want i need help with.

I know what i want and this includes: Punto Sporting steering wheel, Sporting Alloy Wheels, K&N Air filter. (maybe a supersprint exhaust or a cherry bomb but im not sure if i want a new exhaust yet)

What i want to know is without the exhaust will i need to tell my insurance company about these mods I don't fancy doing all this and crashing my car and finding out im insured for nothing and never be able to get an insurance quote again! :bang:

Thanks for reading

Thanks for all of your reply's! :) I was thinking about an induction kit i was just wondering how easy are they to install? Ive never done tuning a part from an old 125cc bike i used to have.

Fitting an induction kit is a doddle. Don't get a k&n induction kit it will take away power,
Get a GSR induction kit they come up on the classifieds sometimes but your best bet is a website called torque7 but they wot be made for a couple months yet at least for your car.

Best thing for now get a panel filter such as a k&n one or a bmc

Cherry bomb is just the back box and sounds very nice imo I have one myself, there again I'm a fan of loud cars, will add a horsepower at the most.

Thanks kyle! Nice car :) how loud is your cherry bomb? (I dont like really really loud cars) I know there only back box but i don't fancy fitting a band new system.

Looking good! Really like what you have done with it. My punto is black with plastic bumpers. Id prefer some color coded bumpers but they don't look really bad because the cars black haha. I would put some images up of mine if my bloody phone aloud me to post on this forum have no idea why but. i got my sporting wheel today only 30 pound RESULT!

Sorry for the late reply
And thankyou :) It's nice getting compliments for your pride and joy :D

It's fairly loud, if you're light on the throttle it's actually quite quiet, but it makes the right noise when you want it too! Some nice popping in low gears too when you take your foot off.

The best thing about it is that is rounds real, my mate has a powerflow on the back of his corsa, it's loud but it doesn't sound right for the car, the cherry bomb has a nice straight growl too it, quite different that what most people expect them to sound like
