Come on. Why multiple threads for the same issue (ECU / no sparks, because of internal drivers, chips inside ECU etc.)?
You are "fighting" the problem since February (or longer)...
Any update, progress?

It was plenty of time to buy even random ("wrong") type of ECU (but "virgin") and test it. From Europe for example.
Just stick to the engine (1,4 8V) and year/model/lift (because there was a switch from Euro4 to Euro5 emissions, plus details like crankshaft sensor from classic 2 wire "coil on magnet", to 3 wire Hall sensor).

Your "problem" is solvable, just throw some money at it (mostly shipping fees/tax etc.). This time you have no choice: "parts cannon" method.

You the Same guy that replied to both my other posts negatively I thought this was a safe space to ask for help guess I was wrong I'm not well educated as the rest of u guys were fiat is doesn't give u the right to just Crit me the reason I post is mainly to find out and ask for help right enough I didn't post updates

I did however manage to get the ecu started with the ignition coil driver replaced but the ecu lasted a week and died again

So if u don't or can't help keep ur negative comments to yourself I asked for help not for a lecture

I don't mind spending money but I don't just Wana spend money blindly the rand isn't as strong as the rest of the world's currency keep that in mind so imports are really expensive so all I asked for is if there's another ecu that is compatible or the same as the IAW 5SF9.AG coz I think HW405 is the hardware type so can I use another IAW 5sF with HW405 hardware and just get it virgined and run it like that that's all not the entire ABCD untill Z just a straight question

Get the correct identical ecu , you are asking for a world of pain and expense trying to fit a different ecu.
Plus find out why previous ecu "blew" and fix that before fitting replacement.

Thanx that's all I wanted to know but the problem is that I can't find an identical ecu anywhere all I can find is IAW5sf3 or anything else the iaw5sf9 ecu is listed as Evo 2011 1.4 8v for the 350a1 motor so that's why I asked if there's any alternatives eBay doesn't have and if it is a iaw 5wsf9 it has to be a .AG coz all I see is IAW5SF9.CB or everything else so the question is would that work and thanx again for taking your time I just need information without having to spend money on the wrong stuff or to waste my time I appreciate the answer

You keep asking the same question hoping for a different answer.....
No you won't be able to get the "wrong" ecu to work - get the correct ecu.
I can't help that you can't find the correct ecu on eBay, no one can.
You will just have to keep looking until you find the correct ecu , that's life and it's the same all over the world not just South Africa.
Yes SA economy isn't great but if you want a working car you may have to get the correct ecu from outside SA .

1. "Wrong" virgin ECU can work (under conditions I stated in the first post: same engine, year, emissions, types of sensors, "trim" etc.).
2. There are ECU repair services in most European countries. Maybe in some African too or Middle East. European path is easier/safer.
3. You can buy whole set of modules: ECU + Body + key + door lock + ignition switch + fuel cap. So called "starter kit".
4. Only negative thing here is your approach to the problem. HOW you handle things (including your interactions in the Internet), logistics.

5. Your priority for now, should be finding the reason ECUs keep blowing. Or learn the hard way (fry another one and start new forum thread next year).

Thanx this is the best answer IL look for an entire lock set thanx my guy IL give an update when I do get one

If you go by the fiat part number off the correct ecu and find another ecu with matching fiat part number then that will work

I should have stated that a used matching number replacement ecu would have to be made virgin but as the op had already mentioned Virginised ecu early in the thread so I didn't bother . Thank you @GrandePunto PL for pointing this out.

Thank you guys also last question does all the top ecu numbers have to be the same or just the IAW 5sf9

See all the previous answers telling you to get an identical ecu to the one originally fitted at the factory. Same fiat part number.

You really don't have to keep asking the same question over and over and over again .

If I can't fine the exact one Ill wire up a stand alone ecu coz my cars been standing sins last year I was thinking of redoing the head gasket and top seals coz the bottom end I already did that's fine in South Africa the most popular stand alone ecu is the dictator 60 -2 I will keep you guys updated if I do go that route

Update so iv decided to go with a stand alone ecu IV removed the electronic throttle body and is waiting for a adaptor plate to fit a fiat 1.6 16v palio cable throttle body with paddle as I'm taking the electronic paddle out aswell
