Hi every one Is there an easy way to change the N/S dipped beam bulb or do I have to take the bumper off, Haynes manual no help , my hands just cant get anywhere near it or do i have to remove fuse box to create a little space my car is the 8v mk2b on a 06 plate cheers

I never heard it was that difficult to do. If you have to open the indicators then on one side it is very difficult to get it open. Mainly because you dont know which way to turn it! But the headlight is just a rubber cover is it not?

Hi thanks ---the problem i have is the available space between the rubber cover and fuse box cover that prevents my hands from reaching and withdrawing the bulb or am I doing something wrong let me know cheers

I think if you take of the rubber on the other side of the car you will be able to see how to release the clip that holds the bulb?
Hi Having scrapped knuckles Managed to finally change bulb, the problem was the plastic that covers the wiring connectors had melted and glued itself onto the bulb tabs, could not release the wire retaining clip over the melted plastic, or remove the connectors now stuck onto the bulb tabs, not enough space between the Fusebox and outermost dipped beam aperture to see what was going on or get purchase to remove the connectors, how can such a simple job be such a nightmare. So removed the front fog light cover to get access to the 14mm star fixing {think it was 14mm] fixed to the bottom of the headlamp then did the same to the upper fixings but lamp was still very tight because foam inserts between the headlamp and bumper were restricting the headlamp from moving forward.so then had to loosen bumper fixings on that side including wheel arch fixings to just create a little wiggle room which finally worked-replaced wire cover with something similar not sure why cover had melted as never needed to check on that side before.
If that happened again i would just disconnect then remove fuse box UUUGH However all ok and thanks for your pointers which normally would have solved the problem cheers
