So i have almost finished with my 650 tune and already thinking about next step which is electronic ignition. Nanoplex got my attention for sometime now and what i like more is that it has no mechanical parts and you can put it on the l/h side of the engine bay which is cold. I really feel very nervous with the hot distributor and even hotter coil in my car. Price for a second hand complete unit is also good. I know that it has a preset advance unit that can also be variable if you connect a vacuum sensor into the carb manifold and this looks like a nice feature since ECU has at list a parameter about what really happening to engine. I guess it is a very good upgrade vs standard ignition system but what about comparing with other aftermarket systems? If any of you has one on its car please let me know about it. I have discussed a few things about it with Tony aka Vitesse which unfortunately is no longer with us but not in depth. I would like to know what is happening if the vacuum sensor is connected or disconnected, is it better or worse? Does this system limit the engine because environmental restrictions or not? (saving the planet is not in my plans right now) I am sure that performance will be smoother but will it be also better?

Hi Thomas; I will be fitting a Nanoplex ignition system onto the '695' engine that I am building up. I was very lucky to be put into contact with a person who was stripping a (body) damaged 126ELX--and he had no use for the ignition system(?!) so I was able to buy the COMPLETE system off him for a VERY sensible price--complete with the wiring loom. I have some information on the system, including a wiring diagram---would you like a copy? If you CAN get a 2nd hand set, so much the better as the parts will be ex-factory. Some of the 'pattern' parts are of very poor quality---such as the special crank-pulley; the 'pattern' versions aren't machined quite right and have a tendency to split!

Morning Tom, i would like a copy if you can send it with email, don't want to put you in trouble with the post etc. The system I have found has a ring that you have to attach to the pulley existing bolts, otherwise all other parts are stock. So far I have found that there are two or three different ECUs with different mapping, I hope that it will be better from my stock/power spark system which is not operate correct probably due to worn distributor.

Morning Thomas;
I can't send it by e-mail, so as I have your address in Athens, I will copyit out for you a put a copy into the post--no problem. Surely, this is what this Forum is all about?

Ok Tom as always very helpful, one day I hope to return it to you somehow. This is way the most helpful forum I am in and I am very glad to be a member.
