I had mine mounted on my box for a while and Bassjunkies mounted my girlfriends amp on her enclosure too and they are supposed to be professionals. Neither of us have had problems. Saying that though I have heard it suggested that they should be mounted elsewhere which is why mine is now mounted on the floor.
As for the boot build, looks rather tidy, and love your style, just forget about practicallity and go for the noise
The main focus of energy will be on the enclosure so by bringing the amps away from the box i.e rear seats will vastly reduce the kinetic forces on them.
Many people have mounted amps on enclosures without a problem but you can reduce the chances of damage by thickening the enclosure walls.
I been on holiday the last couple of weeks so im completely stripped out ATM, i just about to pay for a new HU, i have used 6 sheets of deadening and am about to start a further 3 sheets.
I picked up the new sub and amp on the way back from the Airport yesterday and im working on what sort of enclosure to use, im going to knock up a couple of enclosures to try out which is best but i think i may have one made professionally for the final install.
I still cant decide what i want to do about the front end, i have tried to solder the tinsel lead on my mid but havnt been able to test it yet but i am doubtful as to whether it will work or not
Going 3 way active is proving to be an arduous task, i have offered my DLS A7 for a swap so i can get a little more power into the mid and tweet and i have been offered some very nice amps but nothing can match the X-over and RCA sharing features of the A7. :bang:
Since I've ported my box im not going to get a more powerful amp, Its more than loud enough now lol
I'm thinking of getting the 4 channel iPaul and run just a normal set of rainbow comps off them, dont think I have the money for the 3ways i wanted seeing as I've just a bought a house :slayer:
