the Sport button is only supposed to change the gearchange rpm, i've no idea where StevenkSengwayo got the suspension idea from.
the snowflake button is not for air conditioning either. it is to prevent wheelspin in icy conditions (aka snow mode). usually this means it selects 2nd gear to pull away, and changes gear at a lower rpm.

the sport button is for the gear range, hence in the book will be called the sport button, changes the gear revs for a slightly quicker get away, snowflake button is for snow driving, i have these buttons in my astra auto also
