Grande Punto My grande T-jet

Introduction

Picked this up on wednesday, done a couple of hundred miles so far and it flys compared to my 2b 8v.

Few plans for it, coilovers, tints, murker grills, cat back exhaust maybe, clifford alarm, full JL audio system and maybe play with the engine when the warrenty is up.

Really impressed with it so far. Feels so refined compared to my 2b 8v!

p.s. Any one know what the official line is on running it in as the garage never said anything to me about that when i picked it up
Ive just got the standard grey interior with the milk bottletops on the seats in it. Sort of went a grande and a half over budget to get one so couldnt really tick many options

Thats good to know, just wont take it to the red line till ive done 1000 miles in it or something. My dad reckons keep it below 5,500rpm till 1000miles have been done, so that will be in about a week then :D

This is a good looking car in any colour, but looks especially good in black. As for running-in, I'd say start by going up to the lower end of the turbo's speed range, say 2-2,500 revs for the first 500 miles, maybe 3K for the next 500, then 500 revs for every 250 miles after that. So that would be 4,000 revs by 1,500 miles. After that, it's pretty much a case of the sky's the limit. I know I'm a bit old fashioned in these matters, but you're going to have to live with this for about 4 years and 40, or 50,000 miles if not more so a little restraint for a few weeks will be worth it in the long run. Oh, by the way, always make sure the engine is up to operating temperature before letting rip regardless of the mileage. You will be putting a lot of torque through that gearbox so having the oil in all parts of the car warm before you use it in anger will be a good long term policy.
One last thing. I'm so jealous I hope you get some nasty spots on your nose.
