Technical multiwagon rear bushes

Technical multiwagon rear bushes

I have been ringing round a few garages to get prices on fitting new rear bushes, but struggling to find one that will.
Does anyone know of a garage in the Nottingham area that can do them?
Cheers

Just to let everyone know, I have now found a garage in Nottingham that will do them. I think its a good price aswell £116 +vat all in.

Concidering the new bushes and center bolts are about £50, that's a very good price providing the garage knows what's involved and have the correct tools to fit them with.

:yeahthat:

I'd get the quote in writing confirming what needs doing and how they're going to do it.

I helped my mechanic and it still cost me about £200ish!

I must say, I was quite shocked when they said they could do it. As I had rang round that many garages, that I had nearly given up, because all the others were saying " mmmmm you need special tools and takes a bit of time, we might be able to do it, pop it in to us, so we can have a look ". But this garage I found, straight away said "no problem £18 per bush, 1 hour labour per side at £40 an hour plus vat". They have done quite a few Stilos, and the ironic thing is, I know the garage, as I used to work next door to it and they have a very good reputation. Oldest mot testing station in Nottingham, Lilac Grove Auto Centre, Beeston, Nottingham. Anyway, its booked in now, so hopefully that thudding will dissappear from the back end everytime it hits a speed hump, or bump in the road.
Once this is done, just need to replace front top bearing struts, I can do this myself though, easy job. Should be like driving a new car.

Well my car has NO thudding on the back end anymore. It cost a little more than they originally quoted, but they did ring to worn me. As they got the price wrong for the bushes. And also said it may take longer than an hour per side, upto 1.5 hours per side. I did think "here we go, there going to try and rip me off". But I was proved wrong. The bill came to £163.08 incl vat, so only about £20 more than the original quote.

Hi,
The Multiwagon I have bought has the dreaded worn bush noise from the rear end. As I don't want to risk losing the use of my car while I repair this (with a mechanics help who has a 5 tonne press) I presume I could buy a used rear subframe, refurb it and fit the bushes just needing to fit it when ready? Is the multiwagon frame different?
Thanks Toby
PS. Anyone got a spare rear frame in good nick?

Yes the Multiwagon Rear Axle is different to the 3 and 5 door Stilo ..

There's also 2 types of axle for the Multiwagon. With and without the bracket for the HID headlights self leveling sensor.
