Sorry mate but they are crap! Totally pointless for this country in general. If you want to go offroading, buy a Landy Defender. If you want to go offroading whilst still having comfort for on road use, buy a Discovery. They are completely pointless and make you look a complete idiot. There are a couple of them in my town and i've seen a great number of people waving their little fingers at them!

some people dont like Land rovers, due to cost, price of parts, and becuase they are so popular, some people prefer to have something different and that is what every other 4x4 is there for, any 4x4 can be made to go offroad and no they are not pointless if you are going to use them properly. GO to some of the offroad sites around the country, evertything they do to the vehicles is necessary for them to get round the course...

I think someone have a bee in there bonnet about them for some reason.

I've been to offroad sites and experienced first hand what normal 4x4s are capable of, let alone these things with giant wheels. I just cant see where the size of the wheels and height of the suspension would be advantageous over normal 4x4s, unless the idea was to be driving over cars or something. I dont have a 'bee in my bonnet' about them, im just saying they're too big to drive on the road, 90% of owners wont take them offroad, and when they do they arent any better than the average defender or similar!! At the end of the day, if they were that much better than, for example, the landy defender, which is a vehicle designed purely for offroad use, then why didn't land rover make the car like that in the first place?!

erm.... this may be obvious.... Land-rovers are a whole load more practical...

I have also had 1st hand experience of such 4x4s and i can safely say that these things can go places that normal 4x4s cannot, and also they do much less damage to the ground because of the low pressure flotation tyres.

Besides, you are missing the point. they are for fun, to look mean, and also to look faintly ridiculous, but mostly cool. Because they arent as popular as normal 4x4s, they still earn respect in my book (y)

heres a video of these vehicles being used on what is called 'ultimate adventure'. They are being taken places that any normally specced 4x4 could not go what so ever...
