Hii, I have a FIAT 500 POP 2013 with Twinair engine and Dualogic transmission.
I noticed while ago that, when I turn into reverse, my car makes a noise like in this video ,
and, when it's cold, do the noise in first gear when I accelerate very slow.
I've readed the coments in the video and some post refering with the same noise indicating that it's the clutch release bearing... months ago I'd an issue with the same piece doing another noise and I replaced the complete clutch kit so, I found it hilarious if it's the same piece giving me problems again o_O
Also, some of you said that it's a quirk for Twinair models and if I replace it again, the noise can come back... what do you think?

My Panda TA 4x4 does this too. Its been going on for at leat 2 years and got no worse. I suspect the dual mass flywheel bearing is affected by condensation / flood water and graons. When the car is driven more it subsides a lot If stood for a week it makes the noise more. If I am correct there is not much to be done. mIm tinking of trying to get a drop or two of lubricant onto the bearing but havnt yet worked out how. I would get the car checked sooner rather than later by either a good dealer or a good specialist as the dualogic is high tech and could be involved in your case, although I suspect not.

Yes, after driving for a while (when engine got its temperature), the noise is complete gone on first gear. The last sunday was a hot day and the noise was almost susceptible on reverse (but still there); this time of the year when weather is particularly cold, it's difficult to assume if the noise it's just present in cold or rainy days.

Our cars have different gearboxes, mine being 4x4 so that certainly shifts it towards clutch and / or DMF. It doesnt sound like clutch release particularly although I havn't ruled this out yet I am considering drilling a hole through the bell housing to insert a camera as Im not going to allow a garage to start randomly changing things. I think a drop of lube in exactly the right place will stop this. Ive had my car from new, its never been driven hard andhas been serviced to a higher standard than Fiat stipulate so whatever this is is clearly a common designed in fault. Due to the weather and the roadswhere I live I have driven across a few flooded roadswhich is why I suspect is water and damp related and probably rusting or a bearing or it running dry due again to rust, Its interesting that your car is 2013 as since then, around 2017 I understand Fiat changed the DMF bearing construction to resolve the issues of earlier cars. I suppose that then suggests clutch release may be the issue, in which case its more annoying than critical. I am just going to monitor for the time being. I will raise it with Fiat in APril when the car is serviced.
