Is it possible to stake off wiper arms and blades without opening the bonnet of my Punto? And is it possible to open the bonnet without keys to hand?
Heres why I am asking - My car was delivered home after his MOT while I was on holiday. Got in to drive and found out the hard way the wipers were missing! MOT checklist says they were there. Mechanic claims to know nothing about it and that it is possible to open the bonnet without keys and steal my wipers!!
Fellow Fiat owners please put the daft nurse right on this. Ta.

Unfortunately it can be stolen without boot opening, lift the plastic cap, undo the nut and here it's gone :-((

Sorry, I understood BOOT instead of BONNET

What was stolen just the wiper blades or the entire arms and wiper blades?
if you are local to me (ilkeston-derbyshire) you can have my old wiper blades to get you moving but unfortunately i have no wiper arms

thank you for your kind offer. I did two things
1. Ask the mechanic what happened and he denies all knowledge......
2. Found a local Fiat breakers to help
Mechanic claimed you can steal wipers without opening bonnet etc .so I wanted to check that interesting snippet of info!

I'm almost certain that he drivers side one can be pinched without opening the bonnet.

The passenger side could probably be removed with a thin spanner down under the top edge of the bonnet, I'd expect the little nut to be laying loose somewhere under the bonnet.

Very unlikely the garage would have anything to do with it. Obviously if you left it with them to MOT, you trusted them to look after their car, and it wouldn't be in their interests to return to you, what would essentially be a MOT failure.

In the past i have seen (in the works car park) a customers corsa which was parked over night have the entire front end stolen (lights, bumper, bonnet):bang:
