Mintex. Brake pad fit shims

Installed some mintex pads on my Tipo Today
The pads came with some strange "fit" shims rubber coated metal covers that are a very loose fit overs the pads

Never seen anything like them before anyone else used pads with these?

Haven't seen this actual "fit" brand before - Mintex is a very old and trusted brand though. I've seen a similar idea of using an "isolating" shim like this on quite a few occasions. It's generally done to reduce the possibility of squeal. Applying a light coat of Copa Slip or one of the more modern, ABS friendly, ceramic greases like Cera Tec to the back of the pads will usually have a similar effect.

See this sort of thing in all makes of pad. Including eicher super cheap pads.
They do become detached no matter what the blurb from 2016 said.

For me Ferodo yes
Mintex no

But looking forward to what Chris says when he uses them.

Seen plenty of pads before with bits like this glued to the pad first one that removable and clips over the back plate
I'll keep and eye on them for few hundred miles see how they go
