Introduction

well about time i posted in here got it over 2 weeks ago its now lowered 40-40,14" oz racing wheels, 866 cam, new water pump, new gasket set, 81600miles on a 97 R reg and i am part way though planning a low blow supercharger upgrade aiming for around 110bhp
could of got the megasquirt setup and a LSD for that price, with change!!

Ahwell, your car(y)

Any drawings of this inlet mani? What size tb you using?

I might be making one if i carnt get the itb's going, i machined some bits for a custom mani for fingers, The mani look fairly easy to make if you can weld ally and have some bits of plate and bar stock to play with

thats what i thought. MS2 are cheap now and they can do more then any other aftermarket ecu with little work and a HUGE community behind it. (where other non open source ecus will be up to the manufacture to do stuff for you)

then for about £100 more you can have MS3 which is a duel core job with enough inputs and out puts to have full sequential everything (could even run 8injectors so you could have 1 set for low loads for really good mpg and emissions) ecu controlled: boost control, water injection, lanuch control, anti lag, fans and enough left over ports to do what ever you please.

but anways thats just my opinion. and i like to mess.... and i like been able to plug my laptop into it and let my geekness have some fun

i did look at that but to be honest i just want something that i cant pay around with and mess up and talking to the guys at omex they say that if i want i could spend a few extra pennies and get a one that will run 8 injectors but they say there is no point as this ecu will be able to control their injectors (also in price) which are again rated to around 350-400bhp with out any probs lol to be honest if i see 200 i will be extatic lol as i am only aiming for around 150-170 mark plus should the worst happen and i right this car off i can pull the ecu and then plug it into any 4 cylinder car lol which i guess you can do with MS but honestly i'm kind of wanting to try something different to everyone else lol

as for the inlet and TB i am still in the paper stage but i have found a guy very local to me that will weld it all together once i have it ready for next to no money (well compared to the omex lol) and i am on the hunt for either 1 60mm TB or 2 32mm that are compact

its a lot of money, but at least you wont have any hassle with the Omex system, and instead of relying on dogy forums for support, you have all the technical might of a major ECU company.

Personally i think a DTA or Emerald would have suited your needs much better for less money, but I suppose if thats what Noble are happy with... hope you remember mapping charges on top of that £1k as well (y)

Anyways its an item that you can use or sell or whatever and not lose too much money on, so good stuff :)

Dude - 60mm TB is too big and will probably promote bogging. 50mm max for a single on a 1242.

well think i will match it too the boost piping i am going to use which is 52mm and yeah half of my tought is, if i have a problem with omex not working i ring them and they will sort it lol and the actual unit its self is 545+vat its the 300quid of harness and sensors and a 2hr RR session to set it up maybe 4hrs (2x sessions) i could reduce in by 100 by buying a part harness and building it myself but for 100notes and a s**t load less hassle its a no brainer

oh then in that case the ecu is perfect. Good luck with the project.

I have misgivings about this custom inlet and TB setup but guess you'll just have to prove us doubters wrong, eh? (y)

what do i have to loose by trying it lol if i build it and its worse than stock i will just go back to stock and i will look like a fool but if i try it and it works i will be praised for daring to be different lol we will see but i get the feeling it will be the former

like i always say "nothing ventured, nothing gained"

ok due to finally listening to the wise words of 2 of my friends i am not going 16v pistons instead i am going decomp for now with the possibility of forged at somepoint in the future

so plans has now changed again lol i may try the 16v pistons in a second engine at some point but we shall see lol maybe if i build a totally nuts drag s**g lol but think i would go forged for that lol

everything going to plan i should have my FMIC bought and fitted by mid week (i know that it will be there for show but i am sick of having the plate where it is to hide the massive gap in my mesh just not sure where the plate will get moved too lol i will have a play and see and then post pics up for all to see
