Please help me locate the map sensor if you think this is the first place to start. I have spent several trips to the lot and still cant find it. It goes into limp[ mode when the pedal is pressed on in higher gears. No smoke, or noise

Details of a typical manifold pressure/temperature sensor are attached. I understand that they can suffer from deposit fouling. You have not supplied engine details, but these sensors are mounted on the inlet manifold.
