General loud rattle

my fiat panda has been making some very strange noises when im driving along. It sounds like a sort of ticking and rattling when im driving along but when im going slow or stopped in traffic its quiet again.Any suggestions?

Can you narrow it down a bit? Such as front / rear of car. Left / right, that sort of thing Does it occur at, for example, 20mph regardless of gear, or 20mph in 2nd? Is there any difference if you have a passenger in the front or back?

Suggested causes: exhaust knocking on body, loose items in ashtray or door pocket(s) - obvious perhaps but still worth trying.

Is the jack/spare wheel/wheel brace fitted correctly in their places? Bonnet pushed down correctly (one I found a while ago)

Another silly one: get the "hoover" out, fit a new bag (if you have one) and do the complete interior including the boot. You'll be amazed what you might find, such as stones, bits of tar off the roads, coins ...

Sorry about the vacuum cleaner bit, but although my Panda was a rotbox on the outside, I always prided myself in keeping her as clean as possible.

Have you noticed any puddles of oil where you park your car, either recently or within the last few months, depending on how much you use your car. If this has happened and then stopped, check your drive shaft inner boots to see if one of them has perished or split.
