Hi all. I have recently been gifted a Panda Dynamic 1.2.

It only came with one key and I have lost it.

Now, give me the bad news. Don't spare me the details. I am expecting it to be scrap value only now, so don't think you'll shock. me.

At a guess? New (scrap) Ignition barrell/key and matching ECU?

Anyone been down this road before?

Some of the earlier cars came with a code card, means if you can get a replacement key cut for the barrel you use a combination of pedal presses in the right order to start the car without the immobiliser. Depends on the year of the vehicle and if you still had the code card. Failing that it would be new key and barrel and matched ECU. Unless its changed in the last 10 years since I had my Fiat

Code card not needed, it's a complete waste of time

The code can be read directly from the body computer, via the obd port in a matter of seconds

Remote fob are £160 to £250+ plus call out

None remote £75 to £180 plus call out

This company does it for £110, no nothing about them, south West only

Search for

Fiat 500, all keys lost

Yes I know it's a panda but the 500 will find more

Hi, i think you may have answered my question regarding a replacement key. My daughter's 1st car and it's a beautiful 1.2 Dynamic with colour coded bumpers/mirrors etc however, she's only got 1 key. In london, i'm getting quotes of around £145 quid which includes a replacement key and programming of the Immobiliser. The end goal is to have a spare that operates ignition/central locking etc just like the original. is that about the right price?

Cloned mechanical key from a working key

Open all the doors by putting it in the lock
Starts the car

£75 @ timpsons last year

Can be had for £35 if you shop around last year

1 more silly question please, looking through all the paperwork that came with the car there is some sort of code card. without compromising security what does a typical fiat code card look like? i'm wondering if mine refers to the radio?

Despite what it says in the documentation, cars sold in the UK didn't come with a key code card, supposedly for security reasons.

A franchised dealer can get the key code from a central register, most likely for a fee, but has already been said, there are other ways...

There should be a code card for the radio; that is a separate code. You should only need this if transferring the radio to another vehicle, since a copy of the code is stored in non-volatile memory the body computer. It's not needed if you're just disconnecting the battery.

Just read the original, does not matter if the original key is remote or mechanical

And copy it to a new transponder chip in a new key

3 minutes and it's done

A working remote, to wireless open the car is a completely different kettle of fish though

fair enough, i understand what's going on here, having phoned the original Fiat dealership where the car was originally registered, they've answered my question. originally, the car would have come with 2 keys, a push button remote key where the barrel flips out etc with buttons to operate the central locking and a mechanical key as a spare, we have the mechanical key. So i now need to decided which route to go down, get a replacement remote key or just get a mechanical copy, either way it will need to be programmed to the immobiliser.

makes sense, thank you.

A remote key is completely different

Most charge £250+

In need pre programming
It needs adding to the body computer

Still don't need the code, any autolocksmiths can read it directly from the body computer in seconds
