It's been quite a while since I posted because I've been so busy what with deciding to get married, sell my house, move in with my partner, help her do her house up to sell and buy another house. Plus having a life and going to work of course.

Anyway, the upshot of all this means that there hasn't been a lot of time to spend on anything else. I have, however, had an opportunity to do a small amount of work on the Rat on a recent trip up North delivering Christmas presents.

As you can see from the pictures I have almost completed the front panel. It only needs the indicators and number plate fitting and the spot lights wired up. The spotlights are the ones that Alan D donated from his BMW, slightly modified to mount flat on the aluminium plates I've bolted to the back of the panel. If need be I can adjust the beam direction by just fitting washers as needed to the mounting bolts. (The front panel tilts forward slightly so all the lights will be pointing down too much I think. It might be easier to just modify the bolting points at the top of the panel to bring it more upright. I'll see when I come to wire all the lights up).

Thanks for the comments Uno. I thought everyone had lost interest. The final colour scheme will be mainly silver with some black bits. The front panel, rear bull bars, roll bars, inside the wheel arches and perhaps the main side members will all be black. The stripe will be continued up the panel under the windscreen, over the roof and down the back of the cab.

I'm not married yet! The wedding is planned for June 08.

Looking brilliant there! Keep up the good work, I love the spots (y) Really set off the front and silver is a great choice too.

Dare i ask.......wedding car? :p

If you finish it in time, maybe write "just been made" on the back

Hee hee! I'd love to use it as a wedding car but my beloved would probably kill me. Fortunately there will be no need of wedding cars because we're doing everything at one venue. Unfortunately the money saved will be spent elsewhere.

To be honest, now I've no idea when it will be finished. All I can say is, it WILL be finished sometime.

Don't worry, I intend to keep posting, if only for my own amusement. Hopefully, the new house (when we finally get it and move in) will see a new garage being built sooner rather than later and then I'll be able to move the Rat from it's present location hundreds of miles away from me to where I can work on it whenever I feel like it. Then we'll see some progress. I've already had a tow bar fitted to my daily driver in anticipation...
