OK, car not starting - so took low reading battery out and recharged.
(Parked in drive in rain, so couldn't recharge in car).
Back in today but still not starting, and now the yellow car engine warning light on dashboard is staying on!
Anyone had similar problem?
 
Someone recently had a no start due to fuel cut off/impact switch being knocked-i don't know if your panda has such a switch check your hand book.

I believe the yellow light you are referring to is the
'emissions contol : lambda light'

It wont go off until the car is running ;)


Sounds like the battery might be struggling.. been flat too often..

I dont know which engine you have.. but most dont take much cranking..

Do you still have the old Landie to assist it?
 
Hi, still have the old 1968 Lightweight Land Rover, and it's never let me down yet. (Should I have written that.........?)
Might need new battery. It was really low although it's high now. Will keep checking it over coming days.

PS - What is the best battery for a 2013 Panda 4X4?
 
I can't remember if this is petrol or diesel.
Anyway, batteries are not what they used to be and last no where near as long as they used to. Does it crank over quickly? If not then the battery may be toast and even if you try to jump start off another battery it may not work.

If you can test the battery under load, that's the starting point but, as already been said, the battery may just be too weak now. I assume the battery ratings are different between diesel and petrol. If you tell me it's diesel, I'll have a look at mine and let you know.
 
Yes, it's a petrol twinair 4x4 with start-stop etc.
Heavy duty Fiat battery, and guess it could be the original.
Bought car new and don't remember earlier replacement battery.
 
:)Start stop is just a gimmick which can't do a battery any good and it's environmental credentials are questionable. I'd turn it off when you get your new battery.:)
 
If the battery has sufficient juice for the starter-motor to turn the engine over at a reasonable rate, I'd have thought it should fire up. :confused:

I read it as 'not cranking'..

But you are correct...
IF the immobiliser clears..and you hear the fuel pump prime

It should splutter (being a Twinair..) into life :)
 
If it has not been started for some time it may require a lot of cranking to start due to the way the valves are opened by oil pressure.
 
Is the ambient temperature well above zero?
I've already advised a member here that there could be water in the fuel tank that gets drawn into the fuel pipes, freeze then block fuel delivery. My suggestion was correct as his started when the ambient temperature rose. A common fault on Skoda MB and S series. Even the handbook had a section on this and the anawer was to add 500ml methylated spirit to the fuel. All down to that rotten fuel filler system and a bad seal on the fuel door.
Try the meths, it won't damage anything once it gets warmer. Of course in your case it may not be the issue.
Keep the battery well charged up though.
 
I like the concept but not the way drops of water can enter it.
I use lots of water during washing and there is always some signs of it when I refuel. Fortunately I've always put meths in my tanks at the onset of winter for many years. 500ml usually around the end of November.
