Hi,
The previous owner can't provide a key for the lock nuts on my Panda. The locks nuts look like this:

Can you tell me if they are aftermarket or FIAT lock nuts. If they are FIAT locknuts then are they linked to the chassis or an accessory. I need to get a key or else I'll be cutting them off.
Regards,
Dipole.

They look like the Fiat ones which AFAIK are just an off the shelf accessory. Just had a look at mine and there is a sticker on the locking wheel nuts box saying replacement keys can only be ordered with the "key number". I'm not sure if that refers to the locking wheel nut key or the car key (maybe they're linked when they're fitted?) - I had a look at the locking wheel nut key only had a single letter on it so maybe there are only 26 combinations?

Chris

Thanks, that's more promising. So they may not be aftermarket.
The local dealer said they were an accessory and as such not linked to the chassis number but I don't trust the local dealer.
Any good FIAT dealer in the UK who would supply the key? I do have the ignition key number, chassis number, etc...

a tip of how to get these off...find a socket that's near enough the same size as the inner edges of locking nut and hammer in till tight[1/2"is best] you might have to grind a little off the edges of the socket. then its a case of brute strength with the ratchet & long extension/lever (y) best of luck

That's what I did with my last Fiat/Alfa ones on my 156 where the lock nut rounded but the metal on them was very soft and it was easy to do. These ones appear to be a much trickier proposition.

have a look in the spare wheel bay, the box it came in might still be there....if it is just a case of one of 26 combis, the parts people might let you borrow one to get them off

btw: if you are coming to mitcar tmrw, i'll bring some along that i have, never know one might fit

Thanks but I'm in Ireland.

I've checked the spare wheel well already.

I bought mine from fiat for my after market alloys [not wanting them nicked after all] and its the same one so yours are fiat ones..(y)

Hi, alot of dealers have a master set of these locking wheel bolt keys, if you can email me a very close photo of your wheel bolt I will tell you the code you need by matching the pic with the master set we have.

Here is a close-up of the alloy wheel nut if that helps:

A part number would be useful if you can provide it because while my local dealer isn't great they are only half a mile away and easy to get to.
If I can provide a part number then that makes it easier for them.
