LCD display at the centre of the instrument cluster is gradually dying. Bit-by-bit, the individual elements dim, fade and disappear! Is there a cost-effective way to replace? Can I buy a used unit from eBay and fit that, or will I not be able to link the mileage display correctly to my car? Any ideas gratefully received. Thanks.

Ooh. Interesting. Thank you! Otherwise, do you think there's no issue in connecting the replacement and it working okay?

The 500 has along history of faulty dash displays (damp PCB's)
And that is the procedure for them..
They can even fit newer LCD without issue 😊

Panda is very closely related 👍

They are replaceable

Couldn't find one cheap in stock though
