Ok so after waiting two months for my baby i get a message on my phone sayings she's instock and to ring to arrange sorting it out. My day off is tomorrow so i was hoping to sort it and get her tomorrow...Or do i have to wait to register her? I don't think i can wait any longer!

Your dealer is far better qualified to answer these questions than some random person on a forum who doesn't know if the car has been PDI's, crushed into a small cube or whatever.

Is the wait over? Maybe.

You'll soon forget how long you have to wait once you have the car, so think about how much you'll enjoy the day when you DO actually pick up the car - it's great acquainting yourself with the new car!

I've had mine for nearly three months, and it just gets better and better as time and mileage goes on.

You know this got me thinking guys, when the car was handed to you by the dealer did it have any fuel in it? When i took delivery of my car among the first things the dealer said when he gave me the keys is PUT SOME PETROL IN IT and i checked the dash (car had 5km on it guess they do some testing before having the car delivered) and the fuel gauge was LITERALLY at zero, the lowest possible level! I guess fiat put like 1 gallon in it when built just to test it and then the dealer obviously doesnt put any more in unless i guess you ask them to before you recieve the car!

Remember that the actual profit a dealer makes on a new car sale is often a relatively small difference between two very large numbers, and whilst a full tank of fuel might seem like small change compared to what you've just shelled out on the car, it could represent a significant percentage of the dealer's margin.

Also, just how much fuel did you leave in the car you left behind as a trade-in?

That said, I do think a new car should be handed over with at least enough fuel to enable you to get home. I got over £2k discount off both my cars, and was still given at least a quarter of a tankful of petrol.

Oh this was my first car in Greece so no trade in = ). Well yeah that sounds good a quarter tank, to be honest I wasnt expecting a full tank but I wasnt expecting to be searching for the nearest petrol station the second I turned on the engine and drove out of the dealership! If I knew that they would have given me a car with NO petrol except for a few liters I would have 'negotiated' it when buying the car and choosing the options to at least have a quarter tank of petrol in the car!

Ah, ok, sorry - I apologise. I thought you were just p*ssing on the OP's bonfire.
No problem. That's the problem with using well known references, they're never as well known as you think they are! ;) Moi?!?!?! Pissing on bonfires????? Well I never! :p

This happens at every dealership at least in Greece. The first thing you have to do after leaving the dealership is to find a gas station.

Well why dont you try to improve Greece and ask them to put some petrol in the car? Maybe you will get lucky = )

Because i'm just ok with that! I'm very loyal to a particular gas station ^_^ and i don't want to go anywhere else. Two months ago i had a problem with my beetle because of the gas, i visit an other gas station... around 3500 rpm the car was "kicking" .
