Has anyone managed to get their Ipod Touch working with Blue & Me? All I get is "No Media Found", all my files are mp3s with a speed of 192.

Hi, it won't work. The iPod Touch is actually a mini computer in its own right and runs a slimmed down version of the Mac operating system OSX. This isn't compatible with the software used with Blue and Me / Media Player which is loosely based on the Microsoft Windows CE platform. A normal ipod (eg like the nano, mini) will work fine (my mini works perfectly) but you have to format the ipod on a Windows PC first and obviously convert all your songs to MP3 not AAC. Other ipods aren't computers they are just storage devices so obviously there is no conflict over software.

Using the ipod bit of the iPhone (which is similar to the Touch) won't work either - have tried with mine and it doesn't - just get the no media found message - same as you.

The iPhone in "phone mode" works with Blue + Me over Bluetooth, but you can't use it as an ipod / media player.

You could reformat your Touch for Windows with a bit of hacking but you would lose all its functionality and all you would be left with would be a rather expensive memory stick.

hope this helps.

Oh well that answers that one then. Cheers guyinbelfast.

I assume my only option now is the Fiat iPod headunit interface?

Hmmmm if you are thinking of using this with your ipod Touch it still won't work and you will be wasting your money. There is no way that i can think of to make the ipod Touch work with Blue and Me short of hacking it and reformatting it for Windows and then it wont be an ipod Touch any more since you will have wiped the Apple operating system and all the programs. As i said, the Touch isn't a standard ipod it is really a computer in its own right and it talks its own little Apple language to the Fiat's Windows: they will not and cannot understand each other under any circumstances.

One option is to buy a used ipod (nano, mini) on Ebay - format it with a windows PC, copy over your music to it in MP3 format and you will be flying. If you don't want to do that then just buy a cheap memory stick and plug it into the USB port in the dash.

I use a 3 year old ipod mini that i keep permanently plugged in via the USB port in the glovebox - only take it out of the car to add or delete music - and have never had any problems with it.

I'm kind of assuming here though that you do have Blue and Me with the USB in the glovebox ?????

RE: my previous post. The interface thing you mentioned might work, since all it seems to be is a lead that runs between the head unit and the ipod Touch. Though i cant see why you would want to do that: you will have limited functionality and at best (and not even maybe) be able to ff and rw though all of your music library song-by-song which will take forever to find anything; you wont get song titles up on the dash either. Your best bet is to buy a cheap, used ipod if you have the USB port in the glovebox.

Glad you have posted this, I was thinking about getting a ITouch! As others have said, just get a memory stick, 4gb ones can be brought for about £18 these days. Do you really want a £200+ mp3 player kicking around in your glovebox anyway? Not sure if i would.

ye but thats not the point rely, its so you can listen to you ipod when your walking around then when you get in your car just plug it in

Thanks for all the comments chaps, I've been searching for an answer on this for days. Massive shame that the 2 most iconic and innovative products (iPod Touch and 500) of recent moths aren't able to play nicely. Resorted to am 8GB Pen drive, £17.99 from Play.com. Probably safer in the long term. And it means that as my ipod sits in my bag/pocket, Mr. Forgetfull here never leaves it on display in the car. Right off to convert the rest of my itunes library to MP3.

Cheers:)

I know it wont give you control of the touch from the steering wheel but could you just pop out the head unit and connect up an Aux cable (mini jack)?

That way you can use that with any incompatible players.

Really Fiat should do an update for the Blue and Me system to run with the newer Ipods but I doubt it'll happen for a while.

Fiat make a USB adaptor now that will enable the iPod Touch and iPhone to work. It's very pricey though.

I just bought an 06 GP 130. I have the itouch so bought the Blue&me USB adaptor, but it doesnt work....bloody waste of money

I've updated my software before I have even bought the adaptor because I...read the other thread on the adaptor found using the search button. :)

same problem, ipod touch 3g, B&M ver. 5.5 and still getting 'no media found' however im getting playback whenever cars on voice mode, going to try do an update now if it doesnt work ipod touch is going on ebay as this is all i use it for and getting an oldschool ipod classic which worked fine before.

Can anyone tell me why my ipod nano wont work with my blue & me in my punto? It use to work fine and then i synced it to my friends i tunes on his computer and then it wouldnt work! Any ideas would be great! Cheers
