General instrument panel paint

the silver paint is wearing away.what paint do you use?
ordinary silver paint now needs a lacquer coating.
one time you could by silver paint with lacquer in.
in my exsperience silver paint goes darker when a coat lacquer is applied.
I would like it to remain silver.
no good leaving as is,as it would come off on your hands.
any info would be appreciated.

I was just wondering what paint to use because i want to paint the centre console red and iv seen couple done and there paint is so shinny want to know what paint that is and if its a DIY job and where to get the paint from.
