Technical Inner CV joint boot

Replacing the drivers side inner CV joint boot does the gear box oil need to be drained and refilled.
On most makes of vehicle depending on where the level plug is situated I have been able to jack the vehicle high enough on that corner and when supported safely to do the job, I lost no oil, assuming you are pulling the shaft right out.
On some vehicles it was possible to easily remove the outer CV joint and simply slide the new one into place on the inner end.
However always a good idea to check the oil level as I never knew who had "serviced " the vehicle before me.;)

The inner CV joint on a Barchetta is a large round unit bolted to a mating flange hub/stub. The CV joint is unbolted from the flange/stub axle which remains inside the gearbox. So no need to disturb or lose oil from the gearbox. Take a look on ePER on this site.
