Hi guys
I need to replace one of my fuel injectors on my 2007 1.2 Panda Dynamic
Somehow the bit circled in blue has snapped off, meaning it’s getting no power rendering it useless while giving me a misfire. Can I please get some guidance on how I change it? I only need to order&change one.

Injector on petrol are not coded

As long as the the part numbers match change one is fine
Perfect that's good. Any advice on how to change one? How hard of a job is it? The injector itself is fine but I have no choice than to replace it because the connector has somehow snapped off.

It is a fairly easy job.
Here is a video about it

You don't necessarily need to take the fuel line out of the injectors rail like in the video. It can be done by letting it connected and just pull out the injector you need to replace after you've pulled all the injectors out of the manifold and removed the safety clip on the injector you’ll replace.

It's pretty hard to damage the injector

I only know of one other

And that got damaged during a spark plug change

It hard to see at the back of the engine

Koalar, might you know what sort of pulse does the injector need to work please ?

Voltage level and max/minimum pulse length please ?

Also what fuel pressure and fuel flow would be hr fuel rail require please ?

A motor cycle project that's been simmering away for some time now...

Doesn't help the original poster and not they relevent to a motorcycle

Injectors are supplied with battery voltage
They are ground switched
It's the collapse of the magnetic field that produces the need high volts

No idea on min and max pulse widths. It can and does under certain conditions fire twice and if the right conditions are meet doesn't fire at all (DFCO)

It's usually around 3.5ms at idle, but will depend on temperature,.air density and 02 readings

Fuel pressure is 3.5 bar and about 80L/h

Yeah I have no idea how it’s happened as it’s only me that ever goes under there. I sometimes but the jumper pack on the airbox so whether it slipped without me noticing and broke it that way I don’t know. The others do feel flimsy to be fair, one looks to be on its way so need to be careful

So I’ve found an injector on eBay that is used (which doesn’t bother me if it works it works) but the seller has told me it won’t fit my car? I don’t see how it won’t. It looks exactly the same as all the others I’ve found. Can I get your guys opinions please? I may end up having to order a different one anyway due to delivery times but I’d like to know if this one would be suitable

Considering your car needs an injector, that will totally fix it, as long as it works.
Measuring resistance between injector pins is a good tell if coil inside is ok.
Do clean it with carb cleaner before putting it on and the other 3 as well and it should be the fix.

The injector design was changed 07/2007

Cars manufactured pre this date use a different injector to the 500

They look the same, the safest thing is to match the part number on the side

They look the same you will not be able to measure any difference as it's.only the spray pattern that's different

I.suspect an early set can be swapped for.latter set, I have never tried,.what you don't want is one mismatched one

I’ve ordered a different one anyway, but I suspect it would’ve been fine anyway since the Car was registered December 31st 2007, and has a red Fiat badge, not a blue one

I've just realised something. The injector I've ordered is rated for a Fiat Panda 2003 and onwards. As I mentioned, mine is a 2007 but manufactured in October, and has a red Fiat badge not a blue one. Both the eBay seller and the buying guide it gives you when you enter your registration said it would fit, but now I'm questioning if it will since you said they changed the injector design July 2007? I can see it just giving me a misfire and not working at this rate

Online ordering is a mine field

If google.is correct

The difference is the spray pattern

Old ones has 1 hole
Later ones have 6 holes

I haven't doubled checked on Bosch or webers website

I suspect it will run fine, but not optimally

I have never tried putting the wrong injector in and trying

I also suspect if you have the old type, a new type as a set will work fine, again I haven't tried in real life

The later are used in the 500 so fairly easy to get a full set

Strange, I'm looking for one pre-2007 injector at the moment for my 2004 Panda 1.2

Similarly unsure if they are interchangeable, so I'm trying to find a used one, or used rail from an early car

I've asked dismantlers for the rail but the only ones near me are selling the engine complete so won't separate injectors

Can I ask where you found your 2003 onwards injector please?

Just a seller on eBay, there’s hundreds out there. It’s not OEM mind, or Bosch etc for that matter, just some cheap brand. It could be tricky as I’ve not ordered the set, just one so I may have to try it and see how I get on, it may end up having to go back

Yeah that’s the thing, I’ve just ordered one. I may have to swap it or something depending on how I get on.
